The 2nd Annual DRAMA QUEEN DAY! (A Holiday Celebrating, Reflecting On And Mocking The Drama Queens Of Our Lives)
January 28, 2005
Happy Drama Queen Day, my friends! :)
Today is a very special holiday for the ColoradoGuy community, for it is the one day that we celebrate,
reflect on and ridicule the drama queens that we have put up with in our lives.
Anti-drama queen candlelight vigils are happening
throughout the world today as people make a bold
stand against freaky, emotionally unstable, borderline personality
traited people who "blow up" over their inability to have healthy relationships with others.
(Adjacent photo - I was holding a pecan pie scented candle during my candlelight vigil!)
While the ColoradoGuy forums and chat room are wonderful places to meet
and converse with other visitors, occasionally we run into problems with drama queens. It's really sad! :(
Drama queens are often very troubled and emotionally empty people who disrupt the harmony of
the forums. Typically, drama queens are women who gravitate to me
and develop some kind of connection or relationship with me (because I'm the "star" of the web site, I guess), but
once there's a hint of conflict with them, they "go nuts"
or "fly off the wall" in borderline
personality fashion. All I will say is, let's make Drama Queen Day a really fun holiday,
but I also want to be clear: Drama queens suck in real life!
For your enjoyment, I've included below the Drama Queen Alert System, pointers on how to celebrate Drama Queen Day, and a history of Drama Queen eras on the ColoradoGuy forums.
Drama Queen Alert System
After the Drama Queen Meltdown of August 2004, I created a color code
system to identify where things are at with drama queen behavior. (Regulars sometimes use the term "DQ-ness") They are:
RED: We're having ongoing drama queen problems
as we speak and this webmaster is really pissed off! Don't mess with me, don't you
even think of saying anything that's going to fuel the fire
and I'm deleting posts with a freakin' vengence.
ORANGE: We're having some drama that will hopefully die down.
Rest assured that I, as the webmaster, am following it closely. The drama queen crisis
is manageable, but has the potential to reach "Code Red."
YELLOW: There was a moderate amount of drama
*OR* I deleted/moderated/banned someone who might not be happy with me. Go along your merry
way with posting on my forums, but don't be shocked if there's a little bit of drama.
GREEN: The lowest level. For whatever reason, as webmaster,
something came up that was mildly "in the ballpark" of a possible drama queen altercation.
BLUE: There is no drama queen behavior happening at this particular time.
If you visit my Friendship Board (the general "Whatever" forum) regularly, you may see my posting drama queen color codes from time to time.
How To Celebrate Drama Queen Day
There are plenty of ways to celebrate Drama Queen Day! Below are a few ideas:
Make a stand against freaky drama queen behavior by hosting a candlelight vigil on Drama Queen Day with family and friends. (See adjacent photo - I had a DQ candlelight vigil at my Bible study.)
Do whatever needed to make this holiday special, whether it's forgiving yourself for being a
drama queen from time to time, drawing a picture related to
drama queens or pointing out to a family member or co-worker that they often act like a drama queen. Go for it!
Read last year's letter, when Drama Queen Day was known as "ColoradoGuy Poo Poo Day" ... Enjoy! :)
Come hang out on the Friendship Board or formally introduce yourself on the Newcomers Forum. There's bound to be quite a bit of fun happening on these forums!

At the time that I type this (January 28, 2005), I am pleased to announce the forums have been very friendly,
positive and encouraging to all with very little drama queen behavior on the radar screen. God, thank you,
thank you, thank you, for allowing the ColoradoGuy forums to proposper!
Okay, enough said! Happy Drama Queen Day!
Rock on! Love, Steve :)
